Meeting of the Minds 2020 - Critical Impact September 8 - 10 2020
In my role as a Regional Director for Employer Engagement for Health for the Greater Sacramento Region Community Colleges, I have had the opportunity to provide professional development to faculty, incumbent worker training for industry partners and high school pipeline preparation. My specific projects for regional workforce development include COVID response with assisting displaced hospitality workers move into health care jobs, specialty RN training, connecting industry needs to training competencies, mental health career pathway development and alignment through multiple regional advisory committees.
Through my career as a pediatric nurse practitioner and nursing professor, I am committed to student success, clinical decision-making and training new faculty. Creative approaches to engage students for kinetic learning is a priority as I have educated associate degree nursing students for over 20 years in an excellent nursing program at Sacramento City College. I have held an Assistant Director position for Sacramento City College’s Nursing Program, and have served as a faculty mentor and a coordinator for the tutoring center for nursing and allied health students.
